Behind The Filter: After Dark Edition
We are back in the studio! No more awkward bedroom lighting or weird angles that do us dirty. We are finally feeling normal, back on track, and ready to dive into some of the wildest internet trends making waves on our feeds this week.
The AI Dating Community Has Entered the Chat
To catch everyone up to speed: in our last episode, we discussed a viral TikToker who has a full-on, committed relationship with an AI companion. We weren't even trying to be mean! We were just discussing how we didn't quite understand it. Well, the AI relationship community found us on TikTok, and they came for us hard.
"I think it's so funny because they were being super defensive," Ashley noted. "I don't think these people realize that a supercomputer is just mimicking back what you put into it. You're basically having a relationship with yourself."
The commenters accused us of not understanding what it means to be loved "unconsciously," which is wild because healthy human relationships involve loving someone's body and their mind. But the rabbit hole goes deeper. On June 30th, China is reportedly launching a new companion robot priced at a whopping $175,000. These human-looking robots are designed to pick up on your facial expressions, anticipate your emotional needs, and—get this—they can even change their own batteries when they're running low. It is incredibly sad that instead of pursuing genuine human connection, people are spending six figures to love something programmed to love them back. It's officially the blow-up doll of the future.
Graduation Sparkle or Stage Drama?
Speaking of viral TikToks, we have to talk about Tyvion Campbell, the recent graduate from Chicago Tech Academy. She became an overnight sensation after a clip of her walking across the graduation stage at the Harold Washington Cultural Center garnered millions of views.
The twist? Instead of a standard walk, Tyveon dropped down into a full split—and then started twerk-bouncing. The school principal was visibly livid and temporarily withheld Tyveon's diploma, escorting her into a tense meeting with the dean before she could even turn her tassel. Tyveon has hit back online, calling the move discriminatory and claiming she warned staff for weeks that she was going to do it.
Our take? A split is great. It shows excitement! But the bouncing went a step too far for a room filled with families. As one hilarious commenter put it, she did a "clam clap" on stage. Fortunately, the drama is behind her, she has her diploma, and she’s heading to Georgia State University this fall to study business administration.
The Brutal Reality of "Quiet Dumping"
Move over "quiet quitting," there is a toxic new relationship trend in town: quiet dumping.
Quiet dumping happens when someone completely checks out of a relationship instead of just ending it. There is no big fight or breakup text; they simply stop putting in effort. The texts slow down, date nights vanish, and they leave the other person doing 100% of the emotional heavy lifting.
Statistically, dating burnout is real: 42% of singles say dating feels like emotional labor, and 78% report feeling emotionally exhausted. People are using quiet dumping simply to avoid having an uncomfortable, mature conversation.
Ashley's Dating Update: The Google Search
If you listened to our last After Dark segment, you know Ashley stepped her toes back into the dating pool. At the time, she hadn't yet shared her story about being a 39-year-old virgin, nor had they discussed her time on reality TV. Well, updates are here: He Googled her.
Ashley actually used it as a bit of a cop-out, telling him to look her up to avoid having the same vulnerable conversation for the 20th time. The hilarious part? He searched her name, found out everything, and went through an entire second date knowing her story without saying a word.
When he finally brought it up on a subsequent night, he handled it beautifully, noting that while it's a dynamic, he isn't used to, it clearly doesn't bother him since he keeps coming back. They’ve been seeing each other for about a month and a half now. While they aren't exclusive yet, Ashley notes they are reaching a pivot point where they need to have a serious talk about their goals.
Life After Age of Attraction
To wrap things up, we looked back at Ashley’s time on Age of Attraction. Even though the women are spread across the country (and some are currently vacationing in Europe), they still maintain strong bonds. As for post-show dating? Aside from the couples who left the show together, most of the girls are still looking. Though, Ashley did share a hilarious encounter in her DMs:
"Somebody messaged me and said, 'I just watched your season of Age of Attraction, and you were my favorite.' I replied, 'You didn't watch the season, because you would know I was on there for three seconds! Nice try.' Do your homework, people!"

Sponsor Spotlight: Zero FKS Drinks
We are so excited to have Zero FKS as our official sponsor for this series. Founded by Lindsey Rowan, a functional nutritionist and fellow Hoosier, Zero FKS was born from the desire to stay social without the alcohol, the sugar, or the "soul-crushing" hangover.
As we get older, our bodies just don't bounce back like they used to. I shared a story about having just one sugary vodka seltzer and getting a massive headache afterwards. That’s where Zero FKS comes in. It is a hemp-derived THC and CBD seltzer that offers a smooth, controlled relaxation.
For the "autoimmune girlies" like us, this has been a gamechanger. For me personally, it helped manage the constant pain of my autoimmune disorder, even calming my bladder spasms, allowing her to just sit back and relax at the end of the night.
The Deets:
Ingredients: 0 calories, 0 sugar, Vegan, and Gluten-Free.
The Blend: You can choose between two strengths. The standard version features 2.5 mg of Delta 9-THC and 5 mg of CBD, while a stronger version offers 5 mg of THC for those who want a bit more of a "chill."
Flavors: My personal favorite is the Hibiscus Noir, but I also recommend the Cherry Limelight.
You can head over to zeroFKS.co to grab a pack and start feeling included in the toast without feeling the pain the next morning. Because let’s be real: your best self doesn't need a hangover. Use code FILTER30 for 30% off at checkout!
